Barbizon Scam
Unfortunatly pissedcomsumer.com does not have a way to remove or edit your posts. I have to thank Laura from the Sacramento offices of Barbizon for doing everything she has..
even if nothing comes from any of it. I believe at this time Barbizon is trying to work with me and provide excellant services to remedy a bad experience. I wish I could remove the post but I suppose theis website might not provide any sort of customer service as they have no way to update comsumers to let them know how many of these places might actually take the step to work with their comsumers. Barbizon is franchise...
just like your local McDonalds Starbucks ect... Have you ever walked into McDonalds and been given the wrong order? I know I have. You get home and your not happy & everyone in the car hears you as you grumble the whole way back to complain how everything was messed up.
The differance is that when its fixed annd your driving back home those same people in the car get to know that you have been SATISFYED as a consumer. Pissedconsumer.com doesnt give people the oppertunity to let people know if something was resolved. My daughter had a bad experience.. yes but Barbizon is trying to fix that bad experience for her. And anyone that reads my review should be able to know that also.
Consumers have the right to be displeased but also have the right to let people know \"hey they fixed that\". Laura in the Sacramento office has been doing a wonderful job with customer service and trying to resolve the issue.
Please allow me to say how much I appreciated your support

I attended the Barbizon course twice and can honestly say it was a waste of thousands of dollars. (I paid for it) Now that I am older I realize how much I could have used that money for other things.
I auditioned at many of the events and every time I was accepted and then told I couldn't move forward until I fork out more money. Needless to say I did not benefit from Barbizon. They teach girls that to be beautiful, you have to look a certain way. I was forced to wear skirts, panty *** and make-up.
What about natural beauty? I hate make-up and skirts to this day. I'm low on funds, living out on my own, have terrible anxiety which was supposed to be fixed at that school with the self-improvement part of the course, and I've never even had a photoshoot. The headshot thing was news to me.
I'm also constantly getting spammed with emails and calls and postcards to audition for more events so that when I get accepted I can pay more money. I refuse to pay any more money to anything Barbizon related until I AT LEAST make the money I lost back like they said I would be able to through them.
I've made $80 from Barbizon so far and that was an $8/hour gig to recruit more Barbizon students. Thanks Barbizon; rewarded for everything I've done with $8 and hour and a ten hour work day.
Barbizon of Sac is amazing! The staff is very professional and helpful.
They will do anything to help you out. I'm assuming all Barbizon offices are not the same because I have never had an experience as these listed here.
um i was called and ow im scArred to go um is it really a scam becuase my parent have financial issues and i dont want to make it worst :eek :x :?
I am a Barbizon Graduate and I found barbizon very unprofessional, the comments on here, most of them, I agree with. I'm sorry to say but Barbizon is a scam, I just graduate last week and I did enjoy some of it, I did get a makeup kit and a book and a photoshoot which I enjoyed but the lack of calling back and everything about it was a waste, the talent scout for IPAS did want me to participate in their fashion show but that was way to expensive, if they truly wanted me as a model then I wouldn't have to pay because they would know I would make them money. my older sister, when she was little she modeled for bell helmets and my little sisters friend is on the downy bottle, and they did not go through a program like this
I got excepted for Barbizon. All these comments are really scaring me.
My family is really going through a hard time with money, but they said that they'll still be willing to pay. If I make it and if Barbizon isn't a scam, then I wil go far and help my family. However, if Barbizon is a scam....my family is really going to suffer.
Should i grab on to this oppertunity? Or wait?
My sister tried out for this when it came to our area.
They made it sound really believable and worthwhile at first. A huge presentation, with videos of all the stars who had come out of it. It also seemed like it was a tough thing to get into, but those who did had a great experience and a career and fame down the road.
Right after the presentation, you're auditioned and interviewed by an agent. Again, it was made to seem like not everyone got in. But looking at the girls coming out, all but three of them had acceptance sheets. There were about 45 in all.
Now, if you're accepted, you don't necessarily get in. You pay 2 grand to have people look at your photos, MAYBE take you in, and take modeling classes once a month. Well if it doesn't work you've wasted 2,000 dollars, and the classes are taught by unexperienced teachers. Those who took them didn't learn much; it seemed as if the teachers made up the lessons as they went along.
*** as this is, the real issue here is the money. It is ALL a scam to get you to pay more and more to go to interviews and different cities, and for what? They don't pick based on talent, only those who could pay. They said my sister was amazing and DID choose her, but held off because my parents weren't sure they were willing to give them the money. They ended up not doing it. Meanwhile, others who had were being called incessantly by Barbizon demanding more money.
So if your kid wants to be a model, send them to another school. Even a small local thing would be better. All this does is scam you out of thousands of dollars and gets your kid nowhere.
:eek :roll :) :grin ;)
This certainly a scam my stepmom told me that her sister did this and it cost 1000$ and the don't make you a model
Barbizon is most certainly a scam, I remember being told I would receive makeup classes, the makeup was in old crusty tubes, and I remember my "teacher" giving us wise advice such as "take baths" they make it seem like its exclusive, and there is a screening process, where in reality they allow absoulutely everyone into their programs and fashion shows. Stay away.
The truth is, if you were attractive enough to be a model, agencys pay YOU.
Not the other way around. Save your cash
I graduated from Barbizon 6 years ago. Only in the past few weeks have they called me with offers to work for their offices.
The only thing I didn't like about my Barbizon experience was the graduation. I loved my time there, but I didn't appreciate them saying "She loves runway" when they knew I detested it. They probably thought I would get more jobs if I was advertized as a runway model, but it wasn't what I wanted, and I never got called by anyone but Barbizon themselves asking me to help with the new models coming in.
It's a nice facility. My parents had a payment plan that allowed them to not have to pay up front.
I enjoyed and valued my time at Barbizon. Without the classes, I would not have any friends, because I would have never approached anyone on my own.
I wouldn't have my fiancee if I hadn't talked to him first because he himself is very shy, like I used to be. I have more self-confidence and higher self-esteem.
